Will the visa still be valid if I enter the country on a bus from Cambodia rather than fly? Also, as I am travelling I am not sure on the exact date I will be arriving in Vietnam - does this matter when filling out the form?

Be kindly noted that visa on arrival is not applicable for traveling by land or by shop. You just can use this visa if you are traveling to Vietnam by air.

Thus, we would like to highly recommend you to come to Vietnam Embassy in person to apply for visa for traveling by land.
